I provided graphic design support on the Van Alen Institute District Design Fellowship team for the Upper West Side. Alongside the selected fellow from LANDMARK WEST! (Becca Bran), planners at Buro Happold, and the Principal at Pentagram, we created a "buy local" kit to enhance foot traffic on West 72nd street.
Our "Buy Local Kit" included stickers, a map of current shops on West 72nd Street and a tote bag. We wanted to create an eye-catching, quirky, and fun visual language that represented the unique qualities of the Upper West Side. We landed on illustrative design style and included colors and fonts that evoke a slight vintage feel.
